Reflecting on 2020 and looking ahead to 2021 with One Love Skate

We are thankful to look back at 2020 and see God’s hand at work through some big events as well as consistent One Love Life Groups.

Today, Nicole’s devotional nug we have been reflecting on is from Daniel 2:22 reminding us that God “reveals deep and mysterious things and brings what lies hidden in darkness, though He is surrounded by light.”

Although much darkness often exists in the skate community, we are thankful that as we know God’s love, He equips us to show His love and reveal His light and life to the communities He leads us to impact

Our main focus in 2021 will be helping churches adopt skateparks and care for the skaters in their communities.

We are excited to have a new (short and sweet) 1L leader training from Josh & Sam to help churches equip leaders to bring Kingdom values to skaters and skateparks nearby.

As our 1L anthem states: we are thankful to be “shoulder to shoulder with soldiers for God’s Kingdom.”

Watch this year’s 1L Mission Report
(recapping Tim Byrne event and fruit from 1L Life Groups):

This video is the mission report we gave this past summer at one of our main supporting churches, Hope Community Church in Shelby, NC.

In this video, we celebrated the event we were able to put on with Professional Skater Tim Byrne at Kamehameha Schools Maui and also at Waipuna Chapel in the earlier part of 2020.

Tim shared on his blog: “I had the opportunity to skate and preach the gospel at an all Hawaiian school to around 340 students. I also shared at 3 different church services and then did an hour long demo/outreach for the community on Sunday night in a beautiful outside setting. Thank you to those of you that prayed for us.

There were many that raised their hands during this time to indicate salvation in Jesus!”

Thanks all who live the One Love of Jesus wherever the Most High has put you! In addition to the work happening on Maui with Josh and Sam and Nicole and the team, we have been encouraged as we have seen fruit in other places.

We received this video from a couple weeks ago of One Love happening at Hope Community Church https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27ENxpAsSpQ , Brody is repping Jesus through YWAM traveling around the world and ministering, and also Auburn continues to serve in Wyoming.

We are excited to see what God will continue to do as more 1L Reps are trained in 2021.

We are thankful for God’s continued hand at work through One Love Skate this year bringing Life Groups into the skate community.
