One Love Skate fam,

It's summer 2024, & we're celebrating what God had in store with new groups starting each month at our 6 Maui Skatepark communities this year! Your partnership is the reason we have been able to serve in this way!

Last week in Hana a couple firefighters joined us for prayer under the One Love Skate tent, and we all talked about not giving up when we mess up as we learned more about the skill of “manuals.”

Josh & Nicole also enjoyed speaking at Unashamed Camp together in Keanae,  Maui where our oldest son Caleb was one of of the middle school campers!

At the end of the school year we celebrated lots of opportunities that we had with One Love Skate in Maui Schools this year. These included: Doris Todd Christian School, Kamehameha Schools Maui, King Kekaulike High School, and even a rad assembly at Maui High School with Pro Skater Beaver Fleming! Grateful for professions of faith and fellowship at skateparks and schools. What a blessing to bring the presence of God to the skateboard community shoulder to shoulder with an amazing team of adult and student leaders.

Josh is preaching next week at Waipuna Chapel in Kula (Friday & Sunday, June 14 & 16) and Makawao (Sunday, June 23) about “Everlasting Praise” from Psalm 145. Thankful for these opportunities to continue serving with the teaching team at Waipuna Chapel (our home church) after Josh went full time as a Pastor/Missionary through One Love Skate last August.

We are also grateful to be booked to see family in the Carolinas this summer and visit the mainland in July for a “Support Team Mission”

7/21/24 - Element Church, Forest City, NC where generations of Marburger men (Josh, Jeff & Gary & maybe some grandkids) are planning on preaching about the spies in the wilderness at Element Church which Josh’s youth pastor planted.

Grateful to be a positive presence at all 6 skatepark communities in Maui helping skaters and their families KNOW and SHOW the One Love of Jesus! Two weeks ago we began One Love / One Hour at Hana Skatepark on Saturdays at 4:20pm. This was Maui skatepark community 6 of 6 this year with a new One Love Skate group being launched each month since January (bringing food, fun, & fellowship to skaters). It’s been amazing to see God do this each month including 4 really special One Love events in Lahaina. Thankful for all God’s done and continues to do as “we love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

Prayer Huddles

Grateful for prayer huddles with One Love Skate teams 20 minutes before “One Love / 1 Hour” each week. We read the verse of the week and talk about the skateboard skill & 1L Value before praying with the team and then leading a time of practice, prayer, & food.

5 1L Ingredients

Hoping these 5 ingredients help change skatepark communities all around the world:

1.) One Love Skate Rep (Spiritual Leadership)
2.) Skate Coach (skate training)
3.) Church (spiritual resources)
4.) School (inviting students)

5.) Restaurant (discounted pizza or other food)

Focusing on Hana in June

…we paused the other groups for the summer planning to resume at the end of August with groups at all 6 parks on the same night, Lord-willing.
